A Stage 1 remap takes the 8Y Audi RS3 from 400bhp and 480Nm to around 470bhp and 620Nm on standard hardware. The 2.5 TFSI is the same five cylinder as the late 8V but with a petrol particulate filter, so the file has to work with the filter in place rather than around it. The extra 140Nm is the part you feel from the driver's seat, because it arrives well before the standard torque peak.
Audi RS3 8Y Tuning (2020 On)
8Y (2020 – Present)
At JF Automotive, we specialise in enhancing the performance of your Audi RS3 8Y. While tuning the ECU of the current model isn’t possible, our Speedbuster plug-in module is an excellent alternative. This module boosts power and responsiveness without invasive modifications, providing a significant upgrade to your vehicle’s performance.
In addition to the Speedbuster module, we offer and professionally fit high-quality aftermarket parts, including premium exhaust systems. Our exhaust systems not only improve your RS3 8V’s performance but also enhance its sound and your overall driving experience.
Whether you’re looking to boost power, improve responsiveness, or upgrade your exhaust, we have the expertise and products to ensure your RS3 8V operates at its peak.
This tuning package for the 2020-on Audi RS3 uses the Speed Buster Tuning Module. The tuned results are 470BHP and 620Nm.
We achieve this through a fully recalibrated engine management system (Speed Buster Module) that significantly increases both power and torque.
Extensive testing and revisions on the road and our Mustang 4WD dyno have enabled us to greatly enhance power and torque, not just at peak values but across the entire rev range, improving drivability and expanding the power band.
The tuning process takes about 2-3 hours. We also offer optional before and after power assessments for an additional fee.

Tuning Options
Valvetronic Exhaust System
The Armytrix Audi RS3 8Y exhaust system is a high-performance, valvetronic cat-back system that seamlessly integrates with the RS3’s original equipment. It features a main pipe diameter that transitions from 2X2.5 inches to 3.15 inches, enhancing the vehicle’s exhaust flow for better performance. This system includes unique features such as a catalytic converter and an OPF (Otto Particulate Filter) related fault code clearing mechanism, which helps to reduce the likelihood of a check engine light, particularly valuable for a full system installation.
Not only delivers improved performance and versatility but is also designed to be significantly lighter than the stock exhaust system. This reduction in weight is achieved through the use of high-quality materials like titanium alloy and stainless steel, which offer durability without the bulk. The lighter weight contributes to better overall vehicle efficiency and handling, enhancing both the performance and driving experience. This attribute is especially beneficial for performance cars like the Audi RS3, where every reduction in weight can translate to faster acceleration and improved dynamics.
One of the standout features of the Armytrix exhaust is its valve control technology, which allows the driver to switch between different modes – Smart, Neighbor, and Beast – offering control over the exhaust sound levels based on the driving environment or personal preference. This is managed either via a remote control or an app, which connects to the vehicle’s OBDIl port, allowing for easy adjustment of the exhaust valves.
Additionally, the system is designed to fit both left-hand and right-hand drive configurations and includes high-quality stainless steel construction for durability and performance. The exhaust is more than just a functional upgrade; it offers a combination of aesthetic enhancements with options for different exhaust tip finishes, contributing to a more aggressive and customised look for the Audi RS3 8Y Sportback.
Please note that if you prefer to switch to a different brand of exhaust, we can accommodate this request, but it will affect the overall cost. The displayed exhaust is what we recommended.

Cold Air Intake System
Performance Gain
- Stock Turbo: 15-20hp, 13-18ft-lb
- Flow Bench Data: Stock Intake 530 CFM | Eventuri Intake 840 CFM
Building on our RS3 8V system, we now offer an updated fitment for the RS3 8Y. Our intake system is designed to support all power levels, from stock to over 1000whp. It maximises airflow while maintaining the lowest intake temperatures. Every component ensures a smooth, free-flowing path to the turbo.
The intake tube features an internal diameter of 103mm (just over 4″) and a smooth curvature from the filter housing to the turbo inlet. The specially designed filter has an outer diameter of 210mm (8.3″) and a filtration surface area exceeding 130,000mm². The patented Venturi housing maximises internal volume within the RS3 engine bay, providing laminar flow to the turbo tube.
The duct seals the filter opening to the front slam panel, benefiting from an additional opening behind the hood, equivalent to a 7″ diameter hole. This design allows the system to flow 840 CFM at 28″ H2O, keeping intake temperatures minimal.
The Eventuri Difference
Our RS3 8Y Eventuri system features patented carbon fiber housings that create an aerodynamically efficient airflow path from the filter to the turbo tubing. Unlike conventional cone filters with heat shields, our unique design employs the Venturi effect for optimal performance.
Please note that if you prefer to switch to a different brand of exhaust, we can accommodate this request, but it will affect the overall cost. The displayed exhaust is what we recommended.

Questions we get asked
How much power does a remapped 8Y RS3 make?
Around 470bhp and 620Nm from a standard 400bhp and 480Nm, on standard hardware and pump fuel.
Does the particulate filter have to come off?
No. The 8Y is mapped with the GPF in place. It is an emissions component and removing it is not something we do on a road car.
How does the 8Y compare with the 8V?
Mechanically very close. The late 400bhp 8V reaches the same 470bhp, while the earlier 367bhp 8V goes to around 420bhp. The 8Y simply has more electronics sitting between the file and the engine.
What about the gearbox?
The seven speed S tronic has a torque limit of its own and benefits from being tuned alongside the engine, mainly for shift firmness under load rather than for outright power.
